Description: Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic complex produced by fermentation of Micromonospora purpurea or M. echinospora. It is a mixture of 3 major components designated as C1, C1a, and C2. Gentamicin is used as the sulfate salt. Each component consists of five basic nitrogens and requires five equivalents of sulfuric acid per mole of gentamicin base.
Mode of action: Gentamicin causes codon misreading by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, blocking the translocation of peptidyl-tRNA from the acceptor site to the donor site. The bactericidal effect of gentamicin on Pseudomonas aeruginosa is exerted by the binding of gentamicin to the outer membrane, where it displaces natural cations, destabilizes the membrane, and forms holes in the cell surface.Antimicrobial spectrum: Gram-negative bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus and other Gram-positive bacteria.

Gentamicin sulfate is a broad spectrum antibiotic. It inhibits the growth of a wide variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, including strains resistant to tetracycline, chloramphenicol, kanamycin, and colistin, particularly strains of Pseudomonas, Proteus, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus. Gentamicin sulfate inhibits bacterial protein biosynthesis by binding to the 30S subunit of the ribosome.

Description: TLR5 Antibody: Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are evolutionarily conserved pattern-recognition molecules resembling the toll proteins that mediate antimicrobial responses in Drosophila. These proteins recognize different microbial products during infection and serve as an important link between the innate and adaptive immune responses. The TLRs act through adaptor molecules such as MyD88 and TIRAP to activate various kinases and transcription factors so the organism can respond to potential infection. TLR5 recognizes flagellin from both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and will cause the activation of NF-kappa B, leading to the activation of TNF-alpha and other cytokines. A common TLR5 stop codon polymorphism that disrupts TLR5 signaling is associated with susceptibility to Legionnaires'disease and demonstrates the importance of TLR5 in the innate immune response.

Description: This product is a mix of the antibiotics Penicillin (5,000 IU) and Streptomycin (5,000 μg/ mL) in a 50-fold working concentration. Penicillin (Penicillin G) works by inhibiting peptidoglycan synthesis, while Streptomycin inhibits protein synthesis. Penicillin-Streptomycin is effective against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. This antibiotic is recommended for use in cell culture media at 20 ml/L.

Description: G418 Sulphate is recommended for use as a selection agent in a concentration range of 100 to 800 µg/ml. This antibiotic blocks polypeptide synthesis by hindering protein elongation, and inhibits the selection and maintenance of eukaryotic cells stably transfected with the neomycin resistance gene. G418 is an aminoglycoside antibiotic similar in structure to gentamicin, neomycin and kanamycin. This antibiotic is effective against Gram negative and some Gram positive bacteria.

Description: Microorganisms commonly accumulate at interfaces as part of biofilms held together by a matrix of hydrated extracellular polymeric substances. cis-2-Decenoic acid is an unsaturated short chain fatty acid that is secreted by P. aeruginosa and induces a dispersion response in biofilms formed by gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, as well as by the yeast C. albicans. It effectively promotes dispersion of P. aeruginosa biofilms over a concentration range of 1,0 to 10 nM².

Fournisseur: Merck Millipore (Novagen)
Description: BugBuster® master mix combines BugBuster® protein extraction reagent with Benzonase® Nuclease and rLysozyme™ solution in one convenient reagent. It allows for maximum recovery of active soluble protein from both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. The master mix provides sufficient reagents for protein extraction from 20 g and 100 g cell paste.

Description: Ampicillin sodium salt is a semi-synthetic derivative of penicillin, active as a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It is inactivated by beta-lactamases and for this reason a beta-lactamase inhibitor should be considered when using ampicillin. Against gram-positive bacteria, ampicillin has a similar mode of action as benzylpenicillin; against gram-negative bacteria, it has a similar mode of action as chloramphenicol and tetracyclines. In E. coli it inhibits cell wall synthesis.

Description: Malachite green is use as counter-stain against fuchsin which stains gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria reddish colors and safranin which stains nuclei red. Malachite green stain background to the surrounding tissue blue-green.

Fournisseur: MP Biomedicals
Description: Adonitol (ribitol), a pentose alcohol, is metabolised to teicholic acids used in the cell walls of gram positive bacteria. Adonitol is often compared to other cell permeating molecules such as formamide, propanediol, and DMSO as a cryopreservation agent.

Description: Synthetic Bactericidal Antibiotic. A structural analog of D-Alanine. A partial agonist at the glycine modulatory site of NMDA receptors; enhances learning and memory in several models of cognitive deficit; anticonvulsant (at high doses). Antibiotic against gram-negative bacteria that acts by inhibiting the synthesis of the cell wall (D-Ala peptide bond formation).

Fournisseur: Shenandoah Biotechnology
Description: Beta-Defensin 3 (BD-3), also known as DEFB-3, is a member of the defensin class of antimicrobial peptides. Beta defensins exert host defense responses against viruses, bacteria, and fungi through the binding and permeabilizing of microbial membranes. BD-3 expression is stimulated by interferon-gamma and is an important molecule during adaptive immunity. BD-3 functions to activate monocytes and mast cells, and has antibacterial functions towards Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Further, BD-3 blocks human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) replication through the downregulation of the HIV-1 co-receptor, CXCR4.

Fournisseur: MP Biomedicals
Description: Chlortetracycline hydrochloride has antimicrobial action similar to tetracycline hydrochloride, but it is somewhat less active against many Gram-negative organisms. It was first isolated from the culture of Streptomyces aureofacien.

Fournisseur: MP Biomedicals
Description: Kanamycin Monosulfate is an aminoglycoside bacteriocidal antibiotic which acts as an inhibitor of protein biosynthesis by producing a misreading of the 70s-ribosome.
Kanamycin Monosulfate used in biotechnology applications to inhibit protein synthesis. It is also used as a selection agent for cells transformed with kanamycin B (neoR, kanR) resistance gene.
Mode of Action: Binds to 70S ribosomal subunit; inhibits translocation; elicits miscoding. Antimicrobial spectrum: Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, and mycoplasma.
