Description: HNMPA-(AM)3 is a cell-permeable analog of HNMPA. It inhibits insulin receptor tyrosine kinase activity (IC50=100 µM) and insulin-stimulated glucose oxidation in isolated rat adipocytes (IC50=10 µM). It has no effect on PKA (at concs. up to 1 mM) or PKC (at concs. up to 420 µM). Inhibits both serine and tyrosine autophosphorylation by the human insulin receptor. Does not affect protein kinase C (PKC) or cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA).

Description: Fura 2-AM (Fura 2) is a calcium-specific ratio-metric fluorescent dye. It is also known as acetoxy-methyl-ester. In response to calcium ions, ratio metric dyes like Fura 2 changes their respective excitation or emission spectra. The intracellular calcium concentration is determined by the fluorescence emission ratio or excitation at distinct wavelengths. Fura 2 has an emission peak at 505 nm, and the excitation peak ranges between 340 to 380 nm and is the preferred calcium indicator.

Description: Membrane-permeant form of Rhod-2 that can be loaded into cells via incubation. Because of the relatively low water solubility of the AM ester, the mild detergent Pluronic F-127 is often used as a dispersing agent to facilitate dye loading. Rhod-2-AM itself does not bind Ca2+ , but it is readily hydrolyzed to Rhod-2 by endogenous esterases once it enters cells.

Description: Membrane-permeant AM ester form of Fluo-3 that can be loaded into cells via incubation. Fluo-3 AM ester itself does not bind Ca2 , but it is readily hydrolyzed to Fluo-3 by endogenous esterases once the dye is inside the cells. An important application of Fluo-3 AM ester is its use in high throughput drug screening.
