Description: CpG methyltransferase enzyme methylates the C5 position on the base moiety of all cytosine nucleotides contained in unmethylated or hemimethylated double stranded DNA in a 5'-CpG-3' context. Thermo Scientific M.SssI is specifically formulated for fast reaction times without compromising the reaction efficiency. The enzyme completes modification of all CpGs in 15 minutes at 37 °C. In addition, the enzyme has been specifically validated for use with genomic DNA – the primary substrate in epigenetic studies.

The enzyme catalyses 5'→3' synthesis of DNA, has no detectable 3'→5' exonuclease (proofreading) activity and possesses low 5'→3' exonuclease activity. In addition, <i>Taq</i> DNA polymerase exhibits deoxynucleotidyl transferase activity, which frequently results in the addition of extra adenines at the 3’-end of PCR products. Description: In most denaturing agarose gel systems, bromophenol blue migrates slightly faster than human 5S rRNA, whereas xylene cyanol FF migrates slightly slower than 18S rRNA. RNA loading dye contains the denaturing agent formamide, which allows RNA fragments to separate according to size even during non-denaturing electrophoresis. Formamide also stabilises RNA.
